The students were given the challenge to complete a how to video for the experiment they designed! You can see the videos they created by going to the link below!
The students did a fantastic job working as a team to develop and conduct experiments to determine which of the three brands - Bounty, Kroger, and Dollar General - is best! This was a preview of the experiments they will develop for their Consumer Research Projects! For our next STEM Challenge, we will be creating catapults! The students will be researching the science behind catapults. They will then plan their design and build prototypes! The teams will be challenged to build a catapult which launches the furthest and one that is the most accurate with launching. We hope the be able to do this lab during the week of February 6th. We will need some donations in order to have enough supplies. Thank you in advance for your donations and support! I will be sure to post pictures of the final products on the website! Hello 4th Grade ACT Parents! I hope you all had a wonderful and relaxing holiday break with family! Here are a few updates for our class:
What's going on in ACT class: - We just finished the research unit! I hope you all enjoyed the presentations you saw live or through the YouTube channel links posted below. The links for the eMagazines are still available on our website and can be found here! Thank you for attending and as always for your support! - We are getting ready to start our Consumer Unit which will take us almost until the end of the year. During this unit we will start off by looking at claims in advertising, advertising techniques, and even make our own ads. Then we will be investigating product testing and developing tests for products. Finally, the students will be conducting their own product testing and will share the results at our Product Fair! Requests/Donations: - We are looking for volunteers to come in and speak to our classes covering the topics of product testing, research and development with products, and advertising. If you or a family member work in any of these fields and would like to come in and share what you do with the students in your child's class or for several of our classes that would be amazing! Please contact me! We are looking to have speakers come in the week of January 30th (but of course can be flexible with days). - We are in need of magazines to use for our advertising unit. If you have any magazines that you would like to donate, please send them with your child to my room! Thank you so much! - We are also looking for candy donations again for our ticket drawings. If you would like to help, please send in donations with your child. Thanks! -We will have many more opportunities for volunteering as this massive unit unfolds! I will keep you posted on our website and through emails! Have a fabulous day! The finished eMagazines have been scanned and loaded and are ready for viewing! There are three volumes since the file was too large to make one giant magazine!
